BIGAMY ADMITTED
LABOURJS/R FOR SENTENCE

A labourer. Owen Barber, aged 45, who comes from Christchurch, was committed for sentence to the Supreme Court nl > charge of. bigamy.
I lei admitted in the Police Court today having in October, 1909, married Alar ion Thompson a.t Christchurch, and also in September. 1928. having gone through a marriage ceremony with Roberta Florence Agatha. Gardiner at Kawakawa. He told Alins Gardiner that he was a single man and that Ills name was William Webster, a cook.
After admitting the offence. Barber said to a sister of his first wife, who had given evidence: “Tell Mrs Barbel - of mv sincere regrets- for the sorrow that T have caused her during her life. I was to blame in the first place bv shield inor a, voung woman who had rrot into trouble, for which I was not to blame.” “You can tel] that to the Judge,” said! Mr Hunt, S.M.
