COLLAPSE DURING BEIACH RUN

MAN! FATALLY INJURED

By Telegraph—Press Association, i DARGAVILLE, Jan. 9. The death took -place at the Northern Wairoa Hospital, Te Kopura, this morning of Mervyn MeOarroll, _25 years of age, single, one of the victims of a motor smash at Glink’s Gully on Monday evening. Deceased, with two others, was motoring on Monday night on the beach in a home made racing car and in doing a sharp turn the front,wheel collapsed. The car overturned, pinning MeOarroll and G. Gates underneath. Tliq other occupant, Elliott, was riding on the back of the car. He was thrown clear. MeOarroll was extricated from the wreckage and found to be badly crushed, but his injuries were not considered serious. He, however, was taken to hospital, where complications set in with the result that he died last night Gates suffered extensive bruises and Elliott was practically unhurt.
