MEMBERSHIP OF FOUR HUNDRED. PENALTIES FOR “NAGGING.” (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received 11 a.m. to-day. LONDON, Jan. 8. The existence of a “Henpecked Husbands’ Union” with a membership already of 400 was revealed before Liverpool magistrates to-day. One of its primary objects is to inflict punishment on wives held guilty of nagging. For the purpose of deciding whether or not punishment is justified a special committee investigates a member’s complaint by visiting the home. The nature of the punishment and liow and where it was carried out was not disclosed. The magistrates’ only comment- was “Good heavens.”
