FAMED DETECTIVE DEAD

BROUGHT ORIPPEN TO JUSTICE. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, .Tan. 7. The death has taken place of Air. Frank Freest, for many years a famous British detective. Thirty-five years ago he arrested in Argentine and brought to England Jabez Balfour, who received a heavy sentence for the ‘ ‘ Liberator ’’ frauds. Later Mr. Freest was responible for bringing tC'rippin to justice for (the murder of his wife. Crippin was identified on -an Atlantic liner while escaping to Canada, and information of this was sent to Frocst by wireless telegraphy. That was the first time wireless .was used to bring about the arrest of a criminal.
