A MOTORIST’S APPRECIATION
HA WE HA’S CAMP SITE, Hawera as a bright and shining example of what municipal effort can do to popularise a town by catering on generous lines for tourists was instanced by a Gisborne motorist after a tour of the North Island, says the ‘‘Poverty .Bay Herald-'” ‘‘ln the main, sports ground of the community, the motor camp is situated in a well-sheltered corner, with ample provision in the way of cooking appliances, while the charges are quite low, entitling a tourist to camp as long as he likes, with free use of the paddlingpool, tennis courts, and other conveniences,” he states. ‘‘A man is in charge of tlie camp, and evidently the municipality is well served in this connection, for the place is scrupulously clean, probably comprising one of the most attractive camps to he found in the Dominion.”
