HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS

CHARGEE OF DRUNKENNESS A statutory first-offender, who was arrested, on a charge of drunkenness yesterday evening was convicted and lined 10s, the amount of hail, by Mr G. 11. Buekeridge, J.P., in the Hawera Police Court to-day.

Yesterday a first offender, who was arrested in a state of intoxication on New Year’s Day, was charged before Messrs. S. Bfake and J. B. Murdoch, J’s.P., and .was donvicted and discharged, following his personal application to take out a prohibition order. Two charges against, persons arrested on New Year’s Eve were presented before Air. E. Dixon, J.P., on Wednesday. Both were first offenders. One. who made no appearance, was fined 10s, the amount of bail, and the other was fined 8s and ordered to pay 2s taxi hire.
