HOTEL MYSTERY

WOMAN’S DEATH. CAUSE FAR FROM SIMPLE. EXPERTS INVESTIGATING. (United Press Association—By Eleotric Telegraph Copyright.) LONDON, Nov. 16. What will be known as the mystery of room 66 isi intriguing the police and the newspaper reading public alike. A woman named Mrs Rosaline Fox was found in room 66 of the Hotel Metropole at Margate at midnight on October 23, dead on a bed, after there had been a fire in the room. The verdict at the inquest was death from misadventure, and she was duly buried at Great Fansham, Norfolk. Early in November, however, a Scotland Yard officer arrived at Margate to investigate the death, the result being the exhumation of the body on November 9, and the organs were* sent to Sir Bernard Spilsbury for examination. Since then a long series of puzzling facts has been elicited, suggesting that the death is far from a simple problem. Peculiar features are that the woman arrived at the hotel with no luggage, carrying only a handbag. She .did noj; even have night attire. Secondly, she effected an insurance of £IOOO on her life on October 21 under a short term accident policy. Two days later she died. Curiously nobody has claimed tile ,£IOOO.

i Four large packing cases containing clues were consigned to Scotland Yard to-night.
