SLIM SUGGESTIONS
If you want to (look slimmer than you are—wear anything, but- conspicuouslooking clothes. The well-cut. quieter inodes will be more becoming to you. Don’t effect tight lacing. The tootight eonset or too-sma.il brassiere will give a matronly outline, and surely it is better to look ,a rather plump girl than a. plain matron ! Avoid 1 fancy-strapped shoes. Court shoes, giving a long, graceful line to the whole leg, are far more slimming in appearance. Bee that your clothes fit you and avoid unnecessary looseness, as this tends to give undue width. It is wise to have frocks, and coats shaped, that is, for the waist-line to be noticeable. Shun largei designs and large expanses of plain materials. The small-pattern-ed material will add to your appearance rather than detract. Do not wear your skirts too short even though they are fashionable, or you will look top-heavy. For you, the uneven hem-line is a boon! . Keep your shoes and stockings in the same shade or tone whenever possible. Tlie contrasting coloured stocking to a shoe is only for the slim leg and ankle. Don’t wear fussy frilly frocks, no matter how much you admire them on your friend. Ai simply made style with
a long Y front is more successfully slimming for you than any other style. Avoid wearing beads, bands, or any tight-fitting necklaces round your throat as these will tend to make the neck seem squat. Rather choose a long string which will lengthen the neckline.
