For the second day of the Nov Zealand Metropolitan .Trotting Club’s spring meeting the weather was perfect and the attendance was very large. The course was in fast order. Allsoi started : 1 Kingcraft, scr • 7 Kohara, 24; 12 Prince Pointer, 36 (bracketed with Logan Park); 4 Padlock, 48. Kingcraft, the favourite, stood on the mark and 'lost nearly 100 yards before lie went off. He caught the field at the mile and a-quarter, but the effort told and only for .a moment did he look dangerous. Logan Park took the lead early and was setting a fairly slow pace until Padlock, who began quickly, challenged 1 and speeded up the field. Logan Park led into the straight, where Peter Bingen made his run, caught the leader and passed him in a 'brilliant burst and ran home a safe winner by two* lengths. Dundas Boy, who ran a good race, was third five lengths away, and Imprint was a length further back, with Kohara fifth. Times, 4.18 4-5, 4.22, 4.23 4-5.
