ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
MAN DROWNED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AVESTPORT, Oct. 15. Charles :Salter, a- married man with a large family, was drowned in the Duller river this morning. With others be was crossing the river at the Tiroion railway construction camp, when the boat capsized. He endeavoured to swum the river, but sank before reaching the Shore. Police are engaged in dragging the river.
KILLED IN FALL, ~,, ~ , . DUNEDIN, Oct, 13. W iide working m a quarry at Mosgiel yesterday William James Pearson. a married man, fell 45 feet and was killed instantly. He had gone up a face to loosen stone after a bilast and apparently he float Ills hold on the rope.
