As reported by Dress Association message from Wellington on Monday the ladies' team representing the Hawora Miniature Rifle Club secured second 1 place in the ladies’ teams match in the New Zealand Association championships. The official score sheets, copies ot which were received on Thursday by the Hawera club secretary (Mr. 0. C. Harding), show that the Hawera ladies’ team was seven points clear of the Hutt club team which was third with a tally of 468. and that in the ladies’ singles championship the Misses T. Ingram and E. Rae of the H aweva club were among the prize winners, with iscores of 96 each. Miss Harper (JKarori) with the possible of 109 was the lady champion, and Mrs. Crawford with 98 held the runner-up [Position. Six others, with scores of 017 each, came next on the list and shared prize money allotted and the Misses Ingram and Rae, of Hawera, with four ot liens having a total of 90, divided prize money set aside for the succeeding division. FURTHER. COMPETITIONS. The New Zealand Miniature Rifles Association is inviting competition for the Witcombe and l Caldwell cup among club teams of five members, each to have ten .shots at targets supplied by the association. Entries, with a fee of as a team, close oil September 14 and teams are required to lire the practice under the supervision of an outside official or citizen of repute, on or before October 2. The winning team will hold the cup for a year and each member will receive a miniature of the trophy. Entries closing on similar dates are ‘also invited by the New Zealand Association for the ‘‘own start’’ individual competition of 10 shots. In this series competitors are required to allot their own handicaps. These count up to! the possible of TOO, alter which two points are deducted for each point in excess of TOO.
