ENTERTAINMENTS.

HA WEB A OPERA HOUSE. “MOTHER- KNOWS BEST/’ Those who have read the Edna Berber story, “Mother Knows Best,” visualised on the screen by Eox Films, will recall that a vaudeville duo, “Ben and Bessie,” were very colourful characters in the development of the story. In the picture coming to the Hawera, Opera House to-night, .Joy Auburn and Stuart Erwin portray the roles of the song and dance team. Joy Auburn is a recent recruit from Broadway musicals, including “Scandals” and “Follies,” while Erwin was featured in the original production of “The Show Off” during its original run on the big street. In “Mother Knows Best” the leading roles are enacted by Madge Bellamy, Ixruise Dresser, and Barry Norton. An excellent programme will be shown in support, and the box plan is at Miss Blake’s.
