CHHISTCHUBCH, Aug. 19. The following awards for bravery were made to-day by the Royal Humane Society of New Zealand: Silver Medal: Arthur John Skelt-on, nurseryman, Helensville, attempting to save J. Crenmer from an attack by p. bull on July 10, 1929. Bronze Me cl a 1: Charles Buxton, traveller, Hillsborough, rescuing Walter Wilkins from drowning at Opotiki on December 9, 1928. Bronze Medal: Cyril Vincent Mills, Plimmerton, attempting to rescue N-ewburn King and James Masterton and rescuing four other men from drowning at Paremata harbour on Deember 30, 1928. Letter of Commendation: Sydney. Reid rescuing Thomas Welsh from death in a land slip caused by the earthquake at Newton Flat, Buller Gorge. June 17, 1929. No award was made in the case of Laurie Walk-ley, Palmerston North, who rescued Joy Williams and Francis Martin from drowning in the Ma-na-watu Gorge on January 31, 1928.
