FIRE IN STAND
(By Telegraph—Press Aas«ct»tion.> CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 16. A. small fir© caused by a lighted cigarette butt occurred in the members' stand at Addington to-day, but wais quickly subdued. The damage was confined to one board. EDUCATION BOARD’S ALLEGATIONS. NAPIER, Aug. 16. Allegations were made at a meeting of the Education Board that a Minister of the Crown had been “got at” with the object of authorising a new school at Keikei, East Coast, after the proposal had been turned down by inspectors and the director. The Education Board decided to protest against the erection, as it would interfere with a school at Waipiro Bay,
