“RIO RITA” BOOKINGS.
(To the Editor.) Dear, Sir, —One can appreciate the disappointment of “Theatre Enthusiast” when his application for reservations missed, but my personal sympathies lie with the more enthusiastic persons who, after waiting in the wet and cold for two hours, reached the box plan to find that their waiting was in vain; they also had missed. Also, one might aisk what the position of the box office management would be if sixty to eighty people who were outside the box office had. waited until 9 o ’clock and then endeavoured to secure reservations by telephone. Also ■where would the toll call come in? -Would the post office officials cut off the local calls and give preference to these? If not, can you picture the position? Let us say 100 people were trying to obtain one number at exactly the same time. The notice in the booking office window was of such a nature that it was a sure thing that the booking of your seats to see ‘Rio Rita” was a big fat worm and it behoved those desirous of catching the worm to be up bright and early. Some of the folks near the door must surely have come out to see the sun rise, and prove the adage of the “early bird.”—l am, etc., EARLY BIRD.
