The major portion oif New South Wales is experiencing one of the most severe droughts ever recorded. There is not a blade of grass for hundreds of miles in the western divisions and the stock is being kept alive by hand feeding. Intense cold is killing sheep and cattle. Wheat farmers a,re' everywhere in dire straits and being forced to ask the Government for help to tide them over the difficult period. The Government is considering a scheme for general relief .of needy farmers and pastoralists.
