ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
FARMER GORED BY BULL, (By Telegraph—Preea Association.) AUCKLAND, July 18. A verdict that death was due to collapse of both lungs following injuries received through being gored by a bull was returned at the inquest concerning the death of J. O. Rammer, farmer, Helensvillle, on the afternoon of July 10. Arthur John Skelton said he saw deceased enter the paddock and, he was immediately followed bv his bull. Deceased avals tossed and gored' continually by the animal. AVitness endeavoured to stop the bull’s onslaught, with a pitchfork while his wife summoned the man who shot the bull through the eye. j Deceased, who was conscious at the time, requested that this should be (File. “The 'bull was dangerous,” said witness in reply to the coroner (Mir F. K. Hunt, S.M.). “He had attacked my ,son- previously and I was forced to use a pitchfork on it. People generally consider their own bulls are not dangerous, and Rliuimer thought- bis bull was merely obstinate.”
