SAL El AT HAWERA
AN EXCELLENT AVERAGE
There was a record yarding of dairy cattle yesterday at trie Pfawera- Sale Yards. The- Farmers' Co-op., which included Mr S. C. Tonics’ annual ottering of two-year Jersey heifers and of dairy cows, on behalf of Mr F. Reardon, all were yarded in- excellent condition, but If the heifers bad been closer to calving it probable the prices would have- been even better.
Bidding was. brisk and spirited, there being a capital bench of prospective buyers, and the sales of the heifers all opened; up ait- about L 1 1 and ran up in some cases to £l7. Air Reardon’s cows were, also shown well and some of them reached £l6 to £l7, and the average for the hundred cows being £l3 7s. There was a good yarding of store c-a-ttlc and sheep, and all fetched good prices.
At Waverley a heard of pedigree Friesians was sold, on behalf of Air T. Luptom. Bidding was also brisk, the lop price reached being 34 guineas, and fifty cows averaged nineteen guineas. All stock offered sold well and seventy bead sold ran out at an average of £l6 16s.
