At the ordinary monthly meeting of the provincial executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union at Hawera to-day, a vote of thanks was accorded the ladies of the town and district for their good work in providing morning tea to the Otago farmers’ party when visiting Hawera two weeks ago. General satisfaction was expressed by members, who said that the help of the ladies was cordially appreciated. Members added that the visitors had expressed the keenest approval of the hospitality shown, and several letters to this effect had been received. At the Auckland Winter Show, Mr L. F. .Tones, of Lopperton. von the New Zc aland championship butter grading competition with 101 points, states a Press Association message.
