THE WINTER SHOW.

THE FINAL DAY.

LARGE CROWDS PRESENT.

The halls at the Winter Show Buildings were well filled last night and also during the day for the closing session of the show and exhibition. The football matches had attracted large numbers of people from all parts of the province into town and -the majority spent some time at the show. The gate returns for the day were very satisfactory and were the best of the session.

During the evening the Hawera Pipe Band played a series of selections.

The various attractions—the picture show of New Zealand films, the Empire Publicity display, the Government Departmental exhibits and others have been the theme of much favourable comment. The Plunlcet, Red Cross, and Blind Fund stalls have done good business. A novelty in the form of an arra v- of skiing- outfit, complete in every detail, has created much interest.

The arrangements throughout the show, in connection with exhibitors’ stalls, were excellent and probably no previous show has been better in this respect. Exhibiting firms took a great deal of trouble in the erection of their stalls and the display of their wares, and this helped materially in'the general appearance. To-day the buildings were a scene of great bustle and activity, stallholders being anxious to pack in readiness for other shows at Wanganui, Wellington and Auckland. CAT SECTION AWARDS.
