A refresher course for 1110 Queen Alexandra’s Mounted Rifles officers and X.C.O.’s ivill be held at Waverlev racecourse from "May 7 to May 10. This will be followed by a regimental camp from May 11 to 'May 21. The tents will be pitched on the property of Mr Robert Bremer, who has always placed every facility at the disposal of the regiment. Lieut-Colonel W. E. Foley, M. 0., Avill be the commanding officer, and Lieut. J. X. Henry, X.Z.S.C., will be adjutant. May 19 will be visitors’ day, when the ceremony of the dedication and consecration \if “The Guidon’’ will take place. This is timed for 2 p.m. when the regiment fully mounted will parade. Captain G. Bucldey will have charge of the regimental band, nearly 40 in number, and Mrs. A. M. Young and E. G. B. Sinclair (Hawcra) and Graves (WaverIcy) will be medical officers. Due largely to the Hunter Shaw benefactions and _ bequests from other citizens, Patea will soon have a handsome library and Blanket building, a modern children’s ward at the hospital, and a children’s playground, complete with all “fun-fixings,” at the domain.
