ALLEGED THEFT OF CATTLE. (Liy Telegraph—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, April 11. At lhe Magistrate’s Court, Kay Hebberd u.in'l Reginald Stuart Forbes were charged with stealing five steers, the property of Bryan Greensill, farmer, of Ken e-pur u Sound. It was alleged that the cattle were sold to a stock dealer and subsequently traced to a Picton butcher. The defence was a. complete denial of the sale of cattle'. The accused were committed for trial, bail being allowed each accused of £2OU in Ills own recognisance and one surety of a like -amount. CHA RG E. AGAINST" TAXI-DRIV ER. AUCKLAND 1 , April IX. John Elliott, a. taxi-driver, was commited for trial on a charge of recklessly driving; a ear so as to cause the death of Peter Rangi, aged 17, at Wiri on Christmas Day. COMMITTED FOR TRIAL.
