SUNDAY EXCURSIONS CONDEMNED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April 11. The Wellington Presbytery at its meeting passed a lengthy resolution condemning the Railway Department, Wellington City Council, and the Eastbourne City Council for commercialising Sunday by organising excursion trips on that day. The resolution contends that the bodies so doing are contravening the aim of the law thereon, and are thereby' going beyond their due prerogaitves. PROPOSED ATHLETIC TOUR.
WELLINGTON, April 11. The Atliletie Council lias received a letter from the Victoria Association stating that it would agree to a tour in. New Zealand if the dates were put back a month, as under the proposed scheme the team would mot get back till the middle of March which was too late. The council, however, could not see its way to agree to the other dates.
