ALLEGED SEDITIOUS LIBEL

INFORMATION AGAINST SAMOAN “GUARDIAN.”

(Special to Press Association —By Radio.) APIA, April 11.

Police informations were laid to-day against the Samoan “Guardian” and Will iam Tarr, its editor, alleging that with the intention to., excite disaffection against the Government of New Zealand and the Government of Samoa,, it did publish seditious libel referring to “Samoan officials who have pillaged the funds of the Samoan treasury.” The article was stated to be a reprint of an advertisement which appeared in the Auckland “Star” calling a public meeting at the Auckland Town Hall and intimating that the aforesaid resolution would be moved.
