BRITISH CONCERN INCREASES CAPITAL. (British. Official Wire. -e.-s). RUGBY, April 9. impelini Chemical industries, Lid., announces a proposal to increase the authorised capital by £20,000,000 to <a total of £95,000,000, the increase to be, made by the creation of 40,000,000 new shares of 10s each. Jtatr of the proposed new capital will be required to complete the present constructional programme, leaving it balance in reserve lor future contingencies. The re selves now exceed £11,u00,000. The report to the shareholders indicates the immense scope of the coonr pany’s business and shows that heavy constructional works contemplated are necessary in view of the rapidity of tne growth of the company, wuucih now; employs in its offices and. works a,l>proxiinateiv 55,000 people, compared with 40,000 a year ago.
Sunday sheep- trains are somewhat of a novelty in South Otago, and oonseijuently considenabie local interest was aroused last Sunday by a train from Tapanuii to the siding at Finegand conveying 5000 fat lambs to the South.
