FALSE RUMOUR DENIED. MISSING SEARCHER LOCATED. PARISIANS PER TUR BED. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.) Received 12.30 p.m. today. SYDNEY. April 8it has been definitely established that, the Southern Cross passed the Port George mission station on Sunday. Search parties have been sent out from the mission and Walcott Inlet. Pilot Chafer has been found. He made a forced landing at Walcott. Inlet and the aeroplane wa® damaged. Another aeroplane is proceeding -with spare parts for Captain Ohater. Captain Anderson who readied Broken HiH last night, states that the reports that the Southern Cross party had been located at Thurburn Bin ft are given an emphatic l denial by the resident magistrate at Broome. He said he sent no such message. Received 2.30 p.m. to-dav. PARIS. April. 7. The French press is showing the greatest concern for the fate of the Southern Cross, and photographs of the airmen and the latest reports are given prominence. Squadron Leader KingsforcT Smith’s fine, career is recalled and the hope expressed that every measure will he taken to conduct a thorough search.
