Ltd., reports a.s under for the week ended to-day, April 6: Reel. —During the- past fortnight the juices offering by freezing companies in this- section have not changed; however, those -ruling at our various centres have hardened a little- since our lasi leport, tins being due. no doubt, to the fact that supplies are by no means plentiful. The offerings at our various centres have for the most part consisted of cow beef, fatteners cl ox beef preferring to sell through tile medium of jirivate treaty, and as only limited numbers have been coming forward. full clearances have been effected under spirited competition. Prices ruling being as follows: Heavy fat cows £9 IDs to- £lO 10s, lighter sorts £8 to £9, killable sorts £7 to £7 10s. Eat Sheep.—As with beef, no change iii the prices offering by freezing companies -has taken place in this section silica our last repot t. In view ol the fact that supplies <ue ol a more or Jess limited nature, it is not anticipated that a further drop iin price will be el- 1 fected. Works buyers have now almost completed their activities in this section for this season, although there are still a few .sales being effected to them. In view of our open markets being practically devoid of any class under this heading, butchers’ requirements are being supplied through the means ol I private treaty. I Wethers, although being quoted in limited numbers, are selling at rates below I those that were ruling some few weeks ago. This is undoubtedly due to a decline. In the prices offering for fats, that was announced some few weeks back; however, sales of the various classes are being effected largely ! through the medium of private treaty !at the following prices: Best 4 and 5i year ewes 28s to 30s, others, 2 os 0d to ! 2ds 3d, 2-tooth wethens 26s to 275. good | wether lambs 19s- 6d to 20s. others 21s Ito 265. t,mall 21s to 22s 6d. i Store Cattle.—The offerings at our j open markets consist largely of store j and forward cows while limited numbers : of male cattle are being offered for • private sale.
