With the ever-increasing number of young teachers becoming out of permanent employment, the Auckland Education Board finds itself facing a problem which members fear will assume alarming proportions. The board discussed the position with the Minister of Education recently, and when tlie matter was raised at the meeting of the board on Friday a proposition was put forward which- if adopted, would result in the employment of 40 more teachers. Figures supplied by the secretary showed that of those students who left the Training College, in 1925 a total of 11 were still not permanently employed, of (lie 192 G output 30 were unplaced, and 113 of the 1927 number could not obtain positions.
