Any member unable to play is requested to notify her partner as soon a.s possible.. NORTH TARANAKI TOURNEY. CHAMPIONSHIP TO STEPHENSON. Playing exeedingely -well throughout the tourney in North Taranaki which concluded yesterday on the Waiwakailio links, >C. H. Stephenson, of New Plymouth, won the final against G. M. Chong and the championship for 1929. The final was a great contest, both men playing good golf, and the "winner well deserved his .victory. He went out in 41 to his opponent’s 43 and was two up. Coming home the play was very even. Chong, despite his good play, could not reduce the lead until the 17th, when he won and was one down. But Stephenson, making a great recovery, won the last and the match two np. In the semi-finals the play went in both cases to the 18th hole, Chong beating Harold one up and the same marj gin separating Stephenson and Grey. AVAIWAKAIHO HANDICAP. I In the semi-finals AVilliams beat I Iline and Thorne beat Murchie. Williams won the match in the final very easib r . OTHER MATCHESH. S. Elliott (Hawera) won the last medal handicap (senior) and G. Spratt (AVnverley) Avon the junior. PRESENTATIONS. At the conclusion the trophies were presented by Dr. G. Home, viee-presid-I ent.
