A serious view of the spread of tuberculosis amongst the Maor is vas taken at a meeting held at the \\ aiapu Hospital on Monday, when a visit was paid bv the Hon. J. A. Stallworthy, Minister of Health. Mr Oates, chairman of the hoard, stated at last meeting that half a dozen fatal cases were reported, and the council wanted to know what could he done to prevent the snread of the disease. Maori parents refused to send affected children to a sanatorium. The Minister said lie appreciated the gravity of the situation. and promised to give the matter | careful consideration.
