The additional week’s postponement was made just before the crew were to ho examined to-day. REASON FOR POSTPONEMENT. Received 1.55 a.m. to-day. WASHINGTON, April! 2. The At to rney-Genietral, Air Mitchell, staite® that the jTostponement of the New O'rleians hearing of the I’m Alone ease was due to the request of the Justice Department to permit time for further inquiries. It is asserted that the department wi?i not drop the prosecution of the I’m Alone’s captain and crew unless the investigation now under 1 way fails to disclose any evidence of law violation. A complete report on the Coast Guards’ nursuit of the vessel and the finding on the legality of the sinking would be transmitted to the State Department within 24 hours.
