—— CHAMPIONSHIP TO A. G. ROBERTSON (HAWERA). SMITH (KAPONGA) RUNNER-UP. The conclusion of the Taranaki Rifle Association meeting at tne Rewa Rewa Range, New. Plymouth, yesterday saw a win for President A. G. Robertson (Okaiawa) of the Hawera Club, wTio, alter being two points behind with the last match to go, allot remarkably well in the long ranges, SOU yards and 900 yards, and finished with a lead of ten from tho runner-up, G. R. Smith, of Kaponga. Robertson’s score at these two ranges was as follows ; -—• _ _ 800 yards.—3, 4, o, 5,5, 5,_5. J 3,5, o , —47; 900 yards: 5,4, 4,4, 5,5, 5, o, I 5, 5—47. . u This was done in face of a strong and tricky southerly wind and was therefore the more meritorious. The teams’ match was won by Wanganui No. 2 on a their score being the same as their No. 1 team. Onlv one possible wa s made at the meeting, by J. Kelly, Turakina, at 500 yards.
