POST-SECTION PLAY. HAWERA AND THAMES IN FINAL The .results of the section play I* l the South Taranaki lx>wling tourney this morning loi't only four teams in for the final —Adamson (Thames), Spurdle (Inglewood), Grant (Patea), and Squire (Hawera). The draw was in that order. Adamson and Spurdle wore pietty level for the first seven heads, amt then the’ former drew away and, scoring consistently, won easily by -J to In the other match scoring was much closer, and the result was a narrow win for Squire by one point. They scored evenly at the opening, and at the eleventh head were 10 all. Squire then went ahead, and with a four and. a three had a lead of sis. Grant retaliated with a four. Squire followed with a couple, and on the twentieth Grant also got two, and they turned for the last head 19 —17. The fortunes varied several times in the concluding head, each in turn lying; the shot. Grant with his .last shot had two, but Squire cut out one and left the score in Patea’s favour one up on the head. Squire therefore won by a point on the match. The scores were: Squire (Hawera) beat Grant (Patea), 19—IS. Adamson (Thames) heat Spurdle (Inglewood), 29 —13. It was arranged to play the filial immediately after lunch.
