ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
MOTOR CAR ACCIDENT. (By Telegraph—Lresa Association..) HAMILTON, March 31. Serious head injuries were received byGeorge Foster, a married man with two children, in a collision with a car driven by H f Cave in School Gully, Hamilton East, last evening. Foster was unconscious when admitted to hospital, and lie is in a critical condition. FOUND DEAD. WELLINGTON, March 31. Alexander Newton Cairns, formerly an engine-driver in the New Zealand railways and recently retired, was found at his boarding-house yesterday with his throat cut. An inquest will be held. FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT. CHRISTCHURCH, March 31. Through skidding oil a wet tram lino early this morning, a car driven by John Boyd Clark crashed into a- telegraph post at the clock tower corner and the four occupants were thrown out. Maureen Doris Mitchell, aged 25, was killed and Cecil .Penlingtqn had his arm fractured. The driver and another passenger named Nora-h Riieli were shaken and bruised. SCHOOLBOY’S. BODY T FOUND. INVERCARGILL, March 31. The body of the schoolboy George Shand, who- disappeared from bi-s home on March 22, was found in the Wailiopai River on Saturday afternoon. The body was fully dressed over a bathing suit mid it is •believed that it had boon in the water for over a- week.
