The largest fire in Sydney for a long time occurred at 4 o’clock this morning in Parbury’s bond and tree stores at Meller’s Point, on the waterfront. The building was destroyed with its valuable contents, including wool, newspapers, motor cans, .paints, oils, and miscellaneous merchandise. The damageis estimated at £150,000. The fire made a wonderfully spectacular sight in the early morning.
