FIRE.

HOUSE DESTROYED ON AUROA ROAD. Yesterday afternoon fire completely destroyed the five-roomed residence of Mr W. Hof worth on the Auroa. Road. The outbreak commenced in the kitchen, and in a very short time the building was a-mass of flames. Fortunately Mr Frank Rae, with the help of several neighbours, saved _ a motor truck which was in an adjoining shed, but their efforts t-o quell the fire or save anything of the contests were unsuccessful. ' It Is understood the house and furniture are covered by insurance.

The building was owned by Mr Ludlow, of New Plymouth.
