OPERA HOUSE—TO-NIGHT. DOUBLE STAR ATTRACTION. This evening at the Opera House a special double feature bill will be presented, headed by the Fox super comoclv 4 ‘Plastered in Paris/’ with Sammy Cohen and 1 Jack Pennick in the leading roles. The picture, which is full of amusing situations throughout, shows what happens to a number of Americans when they visit the American League in Paris. Cohen and Pennick, who are great friends, are bent on finding a cure for the former’s kleptomania, and in addition Cohen desires to locate a girl (Mimi), whom ho met during the war. Sammy steals the papers of two recruits in the Foreign Legion, and, together with Jack, is hustled off to Morocco. There they have many exciting adventures with the Riffs. - Included in the cast are Lola Salvi (the Italian beauty prize-winner, who. with Hugh Allan, have the romantic leading parts). Marion Bvron, Michael Visaroff, and Albert Conti. The second attraction on the hill is the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer attraction “A Certain Young Man.” starring Ramon Navarro. The story is a sparkling cocktail of romance, with Novarro the centre of a swirl of fashionable admirers. Marceline Day appears opposite the star, and Renee Adoree and Carmel Myers are also included in the cast. The box plan is at Miss Rlake’s sweet shop.

GRAND THEATRE. In “Plastered in Paris,” now showing at the Grand Theatre, Sammy Cohen and Jack Tennioh are the principal fun-makers. While they are in Paris, Sammy, who suffers from kleptomania, steals the papers of two recruits, and our heroes find: themselves destined to five years in the desert with the Foreign Legion. They are captured by the Riffs, and have many adventures, necessity forcing them to disguise themselves as harem girls. They rescue the daughter of their commandant and also a girl with whom Sammy is in love. As a reward for their services they are granted their discharge, _ and although Sammy proves unlucky in. love he recovers from his distressing kleptomania. Included in the cast are Lola Salvi (the Italian beauty prize-win-ner), Hugh Allan, Marion Byron, Michael Visaroff and Albert Conti. “The Sky Jumpers” (a comedy), _ a gazette. Fox variety, and the serial “The Scarlet Arrow” will also lie shown. The orchestra will he in attendance. SCHOOLS’ ORCHESTRA. THE CONCERT ON TUESDAY. ATTRACTIVE PROGRAMME . PROVIDED. In order to help the fund for sending the fifty-live pupils, comprising the combined schools’ orchestra of Hawera, to Wellington to give the concert in the town hall, -yvhich will be broadcast, the committee of the orchestra has arranged for a grand concert, which will be given in the Opera House on Tuesday next, Alar eh 6, and it will be such as should attract a large audience to help the cause. The programme will include the best numbers from the repertoire of the orchestra, combined with vocal, elocutionary and instrumental solos The performers will include Doris Gilmore and James Collins (vocalists), Mavis Tapp and Ray Mu soli amp (elocutionists), David Rawson (clarinet), Ray Hawkins (tenor horn), Louis Fox and Ray Downey (violinists). The people of the town have shown much interest in the project, and its objects are such as should appeal to all. Tickets may be secured from the children of the schools.
