MR. P. D. KESTEVEN, Chancery Lane, Christchurch, writes: “I am more than pleased with my Studebaker Commander. I have had at different times eleven cars three of which have been Studebakers. “When I decided to buy a new car during the last show, I had no idea which car I would buy, but after seeing the Commander I finally decided on another Studebaker and I am more than satisfied with my choice. The car has given me perfect satisfaction using little oil and no water. The engine has so much power that the car flies up hills and the acceleration is the fastest I have ever known. The control is so easy thatachildcouldhandle the car. “I have taken the car over very rough roads, but even when driving very fast, I did not feel any bumps at all, owing, I suppose, to the wonderful springing and the hydraulic shock absorbers.’’ MR. R. L. WIGLEY, Managing Director, The Mount Cook ' Motor Co., Timaru, writes: “The order we have just placed represents the thirtieth Studebaker car bought from you. “We have been using Studebaker cars since 1911 and at the present time we have 20 in use. One at Queenstown has a mileage of 121,000 to its credit, another at Fairlie has just reached the 76,000 mark. Both these cars run perfectly and mechanically seem almost as good as new. The car that we purchased in December, 1927, has already run over 42,000. “As you know some of the tourist routes covered by us are the hardest in New Zealand, embracing the McKenzie Plains, Lindis Pass, Kawarau Gorge, the Crown Range (4,400 ft.) and the famous Skippers Run, Queenstown. We run a daily service between Timaru and the “Hermitage.” We also run a tri-weekly service between the “Hermitage” and Queenstown besides other services at Queenstown, Queens-town-Cromwell, etc. “Our cars run over roads of every description, under all weather conditions, but the fact that we have kept Studebaker cars for such a long time speaks for itself. We cannot speak too highly of Studebaker reliability, and we are very well satisfied with the Studebaker for power, speed and endurance. ’ ’ MR. C. R. DODGE, of Dodge Bros., Builders, Christchurch, writes: “Once again I write to you about my Studebaker car, as I am so satisfied with my latest—the Director Sedan. I have toured all round *he South Island and can honestly say that the Director would want some beating for riding comfort. I have made some excellent times in the run to Dunedin, attaining and maintaining a speed of 55 miles an hour without the slightest effort and my petrol consumption was about 18 or 19 miles to the gallon, which I consider excellent. OPINIONS WORTH HAVING Studebaker’a championship performance is without equal in America, and is endorsed by the opinions of prominent [people in New Zealand, as 'extracts of letters in this advertisement show. :: :: No other car holds so many speed and endurance records as Studebaker. :: :: :: :: No other car offers so many improvements. :: :: :: :: No other car gives such restful riding as the new Studebaker with the new ballbearing spring shackles that do not require lubrication under 20,000 miles. THOMPSON, / Kilmore St., Christchurch, / writes: , “We have just made a trip " from Christchurch to Picton and return, including a few short runs around Picton, totalling 541 miles in all, and we write you because on the whole journey we used only 27 gallons of petrol which works out at slightly over 20 miles to the gallon. “When we took into consideration the fact that the distance included several short periods of driving in reverse and a considerable number of stops and starts, the petrol consumption works out very satisfactorily for an engine that develops 80 h.p. “During the nine months that we have possessed the Studebaker Regal Commander, we have driven a considerable number of stiff journeys in New Zealand and can confidently say that out of the large number of cars that we have possessed during the last 20 years, none has given us greater pleasure and satisfaction than our Commander. “The hill climbing qualities are remarkable, and on our last trip the whole journey of 541 miles was accomplished on top gear without effort, sometimes slowing down to a few miles an hour, then picking up to 45 or 50 again with perfect ease. Another thing that pleases us is the steadiness of the Commander on the road when driven at a high speed. This, we think, must be due to Studebaker’s efficient springing and engineering design.” Mr. CLAUDE PIPER, Proprietor Clarendon Hotel, Christchurch, writes: “Our old Light Six Studebaker was so good, that a few months ago when we decided to change for a more modern car, we did not hesitate to again purchase a Studebaker. The Commander Sedan that we are now using is certainly the most comfortable car that we have ever ridden in. At present we have only done very small mileage with the new car, but the performance throughout has been perfect in every way.” MR. E. HENZEL, Taxi Proprietor, Grand Stand, Christchurch, writes: “Four years ago I purchased from you a Big Six Studebaker.' It has been in constant use for taxi work and has given every satisfaction. I have only had to spend 25/- for clutch discs and this I consider to be a very fine record. One thing which I had deemed impossible is that, after driving 35,000 miles with this car, I still have my original tyres and during my long' experience as a motorist I have not had a car so economical on tyres. “I have made several long trips, and have carefully tested my petrol consumption and find that the car does 20 miles to the gallon which I consider excellent for a 36 h.p. engine.” Local Agents: MOftIOCR 81 CO.
