Ransom) visited Arapuni yesterday and inspected the dam, 1 other hydro-electric works, and the surrounding earth formation. He was accompanied by Mr Furkert,- chief engineer, and other officials. The Minis- 1 ter used a pick to test the sides of the ravine of the original watercourse, and refused to express an opinion regarding the dam’s safety. He indicated that he would report to Cabinet within a fortnight.
