SMALL ECONOMIES EXPECTED. NO SURPLUS ANTICIPATED. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) —United Service). LONDON, Feb. 22. Indications are that there will be only .small economies in the Rt. Hon. Winston CUinrehiLl’s Budget which lie presents in the House of Commons on April! 9, says* the nolitical correspondent of the “Daily Mail.” The total cannot be far short of last year, when it was £805,000,000. Army and Navy estimates show small reductions and the air force figures are described as pretty much as before. In i„s estimated* that in other departments the .amounts are not to be lower. Those best able to judge declare IMr. Churchill "will have no surplus on the year’s working, therefore a “popular” Budget can hardly he expected. The utmost anticipated is the rearrangement of taxation. New takes are not expected on the eve of a general election. .
