MINIATURE RIFLES.

HAWERA CLUB. A meeting of the above club "was Held on Tuesday, the president,. Mr E. J. Booth ? presiding. Other members present were Messrs A. Elgar, C. Arnold, P. Petersen, G. Harding, Misses" T. Ingram, E. Rae, and Mrs S. R. Veitch. The f ourth annual' report of the New Zealand Miniature Rifle Association was read by the secretary. It was decided that the president should represent the Hawera Club at the annual meeting to be held at Trentham on February 7, in conjunction with the W. R. A. meeting. Mess'rs A. Elgar and C. Arnold -will also attend the meeting. CLUB PICNIC: The annual picnic was discussed and ■it was agreed bo hold it at Everett’s Reserve, Inglewood, on Sunday February. All those wishing to attend, should get into touch with the secretary or Mrs Veit eh, as only a limited -number of ears are available. ' NEW CLUBS. . News has come to the see'retary regarding a new club starting at Stratford. The es>Servieemen J s League hop© to. make a start this winter, when the Hawera Club will most likely pay them a visit and wish them good, cheer. Members would " also like to see miniature rifle club’s start at Eltham, Inglewood, and Patea, thus making a chain of clubs from Wanganui ,tb New Plymouth when inter-club matches would be more frequent, and a Taranaki miniature rifle championship cup for club teams throughout Taranaki would become a fact. The local club is looking forward to a good season this winter. The. committee have worked ha'rd in the season just past , for the benefit of all members, while another new rifle will be on hand when the season commences so that the five mounds will be kept ‘filled and there will be no waiting for rifles as in the past. ■ The annual general meeting is to be held on or about April 29, 1929.
