MANAIA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) HIBERNIAN SPORTS CLUB, A meeting <*f the Manaia Hibernian District Sports Club was held last evening when there were present Messrs J. A. Hansen, J. Landers, C. A. Burke. J. B. Ward, G. Edwards, O. Frankton, W. Budd ami J. A, G. Cosgrove (secretary). The programme committee met before the general committee and drafted out a splendid programme for the day, comprising cycle, running, Highland and school events, wrestling, putting the shot, stepping the chain, and many other events. The amount of prize money and medals will reach £l4O. This was endorsed by the general committee. It was> resolved that the secretary make arrangements re miniature silver cups for the Hibernian Handicap and Wheel Race. It was resoilved that the date of the sports he altered to Saturday, March 23. The ground committee appointed com sisted of Messrs J. A. Hansen and J. E. Ward. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the president (Mr J. A. Hansen) for a gold medal for .the open running events and to Mr C. Burke for youths events points prize. It was decided to charge admission to the ground on the day of sports, viz • Gents 2s, ladies Is. children Gd. This year's sports promise to eclipse all previous efforts. BAND DONATIONS. The following additional subscriptions towards the Manaia Municipal Barn! new instrument fund have been recejv 7 ed: Messrs Cunningham Bros. 30s, A. Mitchell £l, V. Hickey £l. Mr Adlam £l, Mr Putt, Normanby Road, £l, J. 01 ague (additional) 10s, E. Slague Bs, Mr Leslie 10s, O. Abbott £l, N. 'Seown £l, J. A. Hansen 10s. FIRE BRIGADE. The following donations have been received towards an extension ladder for the Manaia Fire Brigade: Kaupokoiiui Dairy Company £l. Mrs Oraig, New Plymouth £l, Mr J. Gilmour, New Plymouth, £1; Mr C. Kasper, Manaia. £1; Mr E. Massey, Manaia, £1 • Newton King, Ltd., llawera, £l. The annual meeting of .the brigade will take place on Friday night at the brigade station. Tllie public are specially invited to attend.
