A stream of doleful tales and prognostications may now be expected from Germany to counteract the influence of Mi Parker Gilbert’s report on the expert commission concerning Germany’s ability .to pay reparations. Dr Streseman’s organ demands the rapid reconstruction! of the coalition Cabinet, declaring: "We want a reparations Government. ’ ’
A report which is tantamount to a semi-official answer to Mr Gilbert is published in the Government-controlled banking institution Rciehskredit Gesollsehaft. It aTgue-s that Germany’s increased production is inadequate for the fulfilment of the reparations obligations, and stresses that the position can be maintained at present only by foreign loans at high interest rates.
