The -Mental Defectives Aet, •which aroused so much controversy during its passage through last Parliament, conies into operation in the new year and the classification board will be set up as indicated in the statute. It will be necessary for the Government to nominate • two members, and this, stated the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, Minister of Health, -will be done in time to enable the board to meet early in January. “The movement, though progressive, will proceed cautiously, 5 ’ remarked the Minister, who explained that the early constitution of the board did not indicate any intention of rushing matters.
