PROGRESS IN SCHOOL WORK. At the fast meeting of the Eraser Road School Committee, satisfaction was expressed with the maintenance of a record school rod of 58, with the successes gained, ait the proficiency examinations, the year being the fifth in succession with 100 per cent, passes, and with the appearance of the school grounds. There are now three good fawns established, flower beds, and tree plantation of a hundred) eucalypts, etc., which Mr R. Syme filled up some time ago. Next year’s tree nursery is well ou its way. The school choir continues to add to its reputation, having now given its third invitation concert. The two items which were outstanding at the concert given ait the ElLhham Town Ball on Wednesday week were Doreen Smith’s solo, “The Dream Man,” and the singing in three parts by five Maori children of the tune “Old Hundredth,” which they repeated in response to insistent applause.
