HAWERA HIGH SCHOOL.
SOCIAL BY THE -GIRLS. An annual school event, which this year included a reception to the members of the cricket team from Feiiding who have been in Hawera since Monday, was 'held 1 last night, when the gilds of the Hawera High School held their social in one of the school rooms. There were about fifty present and all had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The music for the dance was supplied by the school band and orchestra, under Mr D. Wills.
The hostesses were Misses 0 ’Rorke, Earl, Britlamd, Garnett and Stenhouse, while Messrs Petersen, H. Moore and M. Gray aeted capably as M.’sC,. Excellent supper arrangements were made by the prefects under the general direction of Miss O. Harding. Mr and Mrs A. Gray werp present, and included in the guests were several of the old boys now on vacation.
