ARM AMPUTATED TO FREE INJURED MAN.

SYDNEY, Dec. 18. Cuthbert McKenclry, aged 39, was caught in the jaws of a conveyor at the power house at Newcastle, his ann being smashed to pulp. Ambulance bearers held him up while three doctom amputated the arm. The operation was performed in live minutes. McKendry is now in hospital, but is expected to recover.
