PAYMENT TO AMERICA

Received 12.30 p.m. to-day. LCDs DON, Dec. 14. Britain to-day paid to the United States £18,840,000 debt redemption, of which £5,400,000 was principal. Since the funding of the debt payments to the extent of £192,876,000 have been made, of which £29,400,000 have been principal, reducing the present indebtedness to £890,600,000.
