Notification of arrangements for earlier deliveries of certain mails arriving from the south has been received Liv the Hawera Chamber of Commerce from the postmaster. Under the new nrarngement letters from the Wanganui and Wellington districts will now be carried on the early goods train and will be delivered by the post-men’s morning delivery instead of. as previously, by the afternoon one. As the date originally suggested by the Stratford Chamber of Commerce for a visit of inspection to the railway construction works at Tangarakau lias been found unsuitable, the Stratford Chamber has advised the Hawera Chamber of Commerce that the excursion lias been deferred and will probably take place during the later part of January.
