Sir James Parr Has carried hi® campaign loir .the sale of New Zealand •produce to the populous pottei-y districts, wiieer an investigation disclosed that New Zealand butter was stocked in oniy one siiop in twelve. Sir Janies, accompanied t>y representatives of the Produce Board, was to-day entertained by representatives of the Staffordshire Cham tier of Commerce at Stoke. The president of the Chamber, in proposing Sir James Parr's health, declared that New Zealand’s removal! of duty upon British pottery was one of the most dramatic gestures of goodwill! to the workers in the Homeland ever made. He asked Sir James to convey their appreciation to the New Zealand Government and the people. Sir Janie® emphasised that New Zealand’s desire was for trade with Britain, instancing tariff preferences, and he urged that there should be greater reciprocal buying of New Zealand produce, particulaii'y butter and cheese, instead of Danish. ] Sir James placed a wreath on the Stoke war memorial.
